THISTLES is a New York City-based eyewear brand. Handcrafted in Italy, each frame is a contemporary take on a traditional style designed with a raw New York City sensibility. New York has long been a city for the voyeur. Sunglasses provide a dual function in this: something to hide from everything around you and something that offers the opportunity to be seen.

Founded in 2023 by Thistle Brown—a New Zealand-born, New York-based photographer, stylist and creative director. Over the past decade, Thistle has built a multidisciplinary practice that merges fashion, photography and material sensibility. THISTLES is the fullest expression of Brown's considered eye translated into tangible objects.
